1. Mental Health & Wellbeing

Mental Health Awareness - Provides employees with a greater understanding of mental health issues, including the signs that someone may be experiencing anxiety or depression. Participants gain an understanding of what they can do to support someone they know or suspect is experiencing mental health issues in the workplace including practical support around developing a plan for responding to a potential risk of suicide.

Suicide Awareness - This session raises awareness of common mental health issues and in particular highlights the alarming statistics around suicide in Australia. Participants will learn to identify the signs and risks of suicidal behaviour and learn strategies and tips to more confidently reach out and support family, friends and colleagues through a best practice suicide prevention approach.

Introduction to Mindfulness - One of our most popular seminars focuses on the new and exciting area of Mindfulness. While often misunderstood and misused, our experienced trainers at AccessEAP have developed an experientially based session for your employees that explains the concept and principles of mindfulness and provides a great practical learning experience to help reduce stress and anxiety.

Domestic and Family Violence Awareness - This training provides the latest information around Violence against Women (VAW). Participants will gain a much greater insight into what women and children go through when exposed to domestic violence and learn how to look for the signs that a fellow colleague is struggling with this issue as well as a best practice approach to recognise, respond and refer them for help and support. 

  1. Positive Relationships

Diversity & Inclusion - Provides information to enhance understanding of the diverse nature of the workplace and how individual differences can be harnessed to foster healthy working relationships. Participants explore practical ways that organisations and individuals can harness diversity and foster an inclusive culture, where employees feel a sense of belonging and common purpose.

Constructive Conversations - Provides information and tips for employees who require strategies for more challenging conversations in the workplace. This session will outline what is meant by a constructive or courageous conversation, why it is important in the workplace and a model outlining key tips on how to confidently hold these conversations.

Managing Challenging Behaviours - Provides an understanding of how best to manage challenging behaviours in the workplace. Participants will be given the opportunity to identify what behaviours are challenging for them and understand their own reactions to this behaviour. They will have an opportunity to role play engaging in a discussion with someone around their challenging behaviour.

Dignity & Respect - Provides greater understanding of the diverse nature of the workplace and how individual differences can be harnessed to foster healthy working relationships. Participants will be given an opportunity to explore the challenges in working with individual differences as well as exploring practical communication skills to facilitate improved professional and respectful discussions when working with others who are different to us.

Verbal Self-Defence - This session aims to equip participants with tools to remain psychologically safe when working with the public. Participants will learn how to de-escalate or diffuse situations, and when to walk away.

Workplace Bullying Awareness - This session aims to educate staff on the statistics, definitions, causes and impacts of workplace bullying in Australia. Some aspects of the law which relate to bullying are covered, as well as providing participants with strategies to manage bullying in the most constructive manner possible. Case studies are provided for deeper awareness and understanding.

  1. Navigating change

Resilience through Change - Participants are given an opportunity to explore common emotional reactions to organisational change as well as understanding the various individual factors which can influence our responses. The session will then explore strategies to help employees manage their emotional responses to change as well as practical tips on how best to self-manage during any major change process.
