What is AccessChat?
AccessChat is our confidential and secure instant messaging counselling service, which allows clients to access counselling services from their phone or desktop no matter where they are.
Some people prefer to access counselling support via text, or might be in an environment where a quiet, discreet messaging conversation is more suitable. Whatever the reason, our confidential and secure AccessChat service connects clients with a qualified and experienced clinical professional. For more information please see Frequently Asked Questions here.
Book an AccessChat appointment
With AccessChat, clients can use our online Booking Portal to book a scheduled instant messaging appointment for a day and time that’s most suitable. These appointments are treated like a normal EAP counselling session; offering clients a 50 minute session as part of the EAP session allowance provided by their employer or organisation. Users can select any of our available AccessChat counsellors, and book follow-up sessions with the same counsellor or through a different modality (such as face-to-face, phone, or video) as desired.
An immediate Quick Consultation via AccessChat
Alternatively, clients can use our Online Booking Portal or mobile app to join a Quick Consultation AccessChat with no appointment required. These sessions are available at any time between the hours of 8am and 8pm (AEST/AEDT), Monday to Friday, where clients will be joined with the next available counsellor from our pool of AccessChat counsellors. Quick Consultations are recommended for one-off sessions, where the counsellor will discuss workable solutions and tools to help clients cope with their immediate situation. For more complex issues, clients may be referred to appointments.
Please note that your organisation may not have enabled all services as part of your EAP, which may limit what can be accessed through the online Booking Portal. Please check what services are available to you.
- If your organisation requires manager referral to EAP counselling services, you will not be able to make AccessChat appointments through our online Booking Portal - please contact our client services team on 1800 818 728 for further information
- If your organisation includes family member support, those family members can make bookings for AccessChat sessions through our online Booking Portal via the same login as the employee covered through AccessEAP (Quick Consultations are currently not available for family members)
If users have any internet stability issues, they can rejoin a scheduled appointment at any point during the appointment time. If you have a question about using our services, please call us on 1800 818 728 (8am to 6pm AEST/AEDT) or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
